  • Created: Fri 26th JUN 2015

The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has determined tariffs for various transmission systems of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (Powergrid) installed in the Southern Region (SR) anticipated to be commissioned during the 2014-19 period under the CERC (Terms and Conditions of Tariff) Regulations, 2014. In the various petitions filed by the company, it requested the commission to allow 90 per cent of the annual fixed charges for the purpose of inclusion in the point of connection (PoC) charges.

Assets covered in the present order are:

Asset I: 400 kV Salem pooling station-Salem D/C line along with new 765/400 kV PS at Salem (initially charged at 400 kV) and bay extensions at the existing 400/220 kV Salem substation.

Asset II:  LILO of the 400 kV N’Sagar–Gooty S/C line at Kurnool (New) substation; the 400 kV Kurnool (New)–Kurnool (APTRANSCO) D/C line; new 765/400 kV substation at Kurnool with 2X1,500 MVA transformers; extension of Kurnool (APTRANSCO) substation; 1X240 MVAr bus reactor at Kurnool (New) substation.

Asset III: 400 kV Dharmapuri (Salem New)–Somanhali D/C line along with bay extension at Dharmapuri and Somanhalli substations.

Asset IV: LILO of one circuit of the 400 kV Neyveli–Trichy line at Nagapattinam pooling station for initial arrangement, which will later be bypassed.

The tariff allowed in the present order will be applicable from the date of commercial operation (DoCO) of the transmission system. The billing, collection and disbursement of the transmission charges will be governed by the provisions of the CERC (Sharing of Inter State Transmission Charges and Losses) Regulations, 2010. The charges allowed are subject to adjustment after the final tariff is determined.
